Cindy Margulis of the Golden Gate Audubon Society reached out to HDOnTap with the challenge of designing a solution to produce live video content from an active Osprey nest located on a historic Whirley crane in Richmond, California.

Pacific Gas & Electric allowed use of the largest lift truck in their fleet to help with the camera installations.

PG&E crews and HDOnTap staff installed a camera over 175' from the ground for a very unique perspective moniotring the Osprey nest activities.

The lift truck has the capability of 200' lift height and is the largest in the PG&E fleet.

Climbing the Whirley crane is very dangerous as the structural integrity of the crane has iminished over the last 50 years.

HDOnTap designed mounting solution that prevented the need to penetrate the crane at any location.
