El Porto is the north end of Manhattan Beach, a city in the South Bay area of Los Angeles. El Porto Beach extends from 38th Street up to 45th Street off of Vista Del Mar, some refer to the dividing line between Manhattan Beach and El Porto as Rosecrans Ave.
The waves in El Porto surf are excellent, making this a premier surfing spot among the LA beaches. The beach is located close to El Segundo and the Chevron oil refinery just north of the beach but the water and air are both clean and beautiful with soft white sand. Surf conditions are consistently great in this area, an underwater canyon creates waves a bit larger than beaches to the south like Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, and Torrance Beach.
The main view of this live cam is a wide view overlooking the businesses in El Porto with the beach and Pacific Ocean in the background. The additional view is a live PTZ cam which pans from the South end of El Porto to the North end of the beach. The PTZ shows more of the beach activity while the wide angle shows both the beach activity as well as the air and ocean traffic from helicopters and boats.
