Surry, Virginia — March 17, 2025 — HDOnTap, in partnership with the Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR), announces the launch of the Hog Island Wildlife Management Area Live Cam, streaming year-round from one of Virginia’s most diverse habitats.

The new camera, mounted on a radio tower overlooking tidal marshes, wetlands and open water, provides a sweeping view of the Hog Island Wildlife Management Area. This protected site is home to a rich array of wildlife, including raptors, songbirds, migratory waterfowl, deer, and other native species. With PTZ capability, audio, infrared night vision, and live operators, viewers can experience Virginia’s wildlife in new and dynamic ways.

“The Hog Island stream is a unique opportunity to showcase Virginia’s natural heritage and bring the diversity of this habitat directly to people’s screens,”
— Tim Sears, President & Founder, HDOnTap

The Hog Island WMA, managed by the Virginia DWR, spans more than 3,900 acres along the James River. Its marshes, forest edges, and open waters provide critical stopovers for migratory birds and year-round habitat for resident wildlife. The live stream enhances both education and appreciation of Virginia’s conservation lands.
