Welcome to the HDOnTap Community
These Community Guidelines are intended to help create a respectful, informative, and enjoyable experience for everyone participating on HDOnTap.com. They provide practical guidance for using our live chat and comment features, and they outline HDOnTap’s policies on acceptable behavior within the community.
By creating an account, posting comments, and participating in the HDOnTap community, you agree to follow these guidelines. HDOnTap may update these guidelines from time to time without notice.
HDOnTap.com now uses its own live Chat and Comment system. In order to participate in chat or post comments, you must create a free account on HDOnTap.com.

General Rules and Guidelines
- Keep your comments relevant to the live stream, camera, event, or discussion taking place.
- Be respectful to other viewers and follow the Golden Rule.
- Healthy discussion is welcome, but personal attacks, baiting, and hostile arguments are not.
- Do not spam, troll, flood the chat, or repeatedly post the same message.
- Avoid sharing personal, private, or sensitive information about yourself or others.
- Comments may be removed at the discretion of HDOnTap Staff, Moderators, or Live Cam Ambassadors.
- Users may be muted, suspended, or banned at the discretion of HDOnTap Staff.
- If you see a comment that is offensive, abusive, threatening, harassing, derogatory, discriminatory, profane, or otherwise violates these guidelines, use the Report feature instead of engaging with the user.
- When a comment receives 3 reports, it may be automatically removed from public view pending review.
- Every report sends an alert to HDOnTap Staff for review.
Please use the Report feature responsibly. Do not report a comment simply because you disagree with it, dislike it, or find it upsetting if it is still on topic and does not violate these guidelines.
For example, a comment such as:
“The baby eagle is going to die if the mom doesn’t feed it right away!”
may be emotional or upsetting, but it is still related to the live stream and may reflect a viewer’s opinion or concern. Comments like that should not be reported unless they also include harassment, abuse, or another actual guideline violation.
Publishing Guidelines
You may only maintain one account per person. Multiple accounts created by the same person may be removed, and abuse of multiple accounts may result in account restrictions or an IP ban.
Please keep posts on topic. For nest cams and wildlife cams in particular, discussion about other nests, other cameras, or unrelated wildlife events may be limited or removed, especially when the featured nest or live event is active. This helps reduce confusion and keep the conversation useful for viewers following that specific stream.
The following types of content may be removed immediately and may also result in warnings, suspension, or permanent ban. This list is not exhaustive, and all moderation decisions remain at the discretion of HDOnTap.
- Profane, obscene, sexually explicit, defamatory, abusive, or violent language
- Harassment, bullying, threats, intimidation, or targeted abuse toward another person
- Hateful or discriminatory comments related to race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or other protected characteristics
- Trolling, impersonation, or deliberately disruptive behavior intended to derail the discussion
- Repeatedly posting inflammatory statements solely to provoke emotional reactions
- Spam, self-promotion, commercial solicitations, or link baiting
- Posting misleading, fraudulent, or deceptive content
- Posting or requesting private, confidential, or personally identifying information
- Stalking behavior or statements suggesting an intent to track, contact, or interfere with another person offline
- Copyright or intellectual property violations
- Content relating to confidential, proprietary, or non-public business information
- Content determined by HDOnTap to be inappropriate, disruptive, or contrary to the purpose of the community
Users who are banned and attempt to evade that ban by creating additional accounts may be subject to broader account restrictions or an IP ban. Users may not post on behalf of banned individuals. Doing so may also result in moderation action against their account.
Reporting Content
The Report feature is meant to help surface content that likely breaks the rules. It is not a tool for silencing opinions, emotional reactions, wildlife observations, or on-topic discussion that you simply disagree with.
Please report content such as:
- Personal attacks
- Harassment or threats
- Hate speech or discriminatory remarks
- Graphic sexual content
- Profanity directed at other users
- Spam or scams
- Impersonation
- Deliberately abusive or disruptive behavior
Please do not report content simply because:
- You disagree with the opinion
- The comment is upsetting but still on topic
- The comment expresses concern, worry, or speculation about the animals or situation on screen
- The comment is not how you personally would have worded it
False or abusive use of the Report feature may itself be considered disruptive behavior.
Moderators and Moderation
HDOnTap.com is moderated by HDOnTap Staff, as well as appointed Live Cam Ambassadors and Moderators. These users may be identified next to their display name within the community.
Our moderation team uses its best judgment to apply these guidelines fairly and in a way that supports the overall health of the HDOnTap community. Moderation decisions may include comment removal, user warnings, temporary mutes, suspensions, or permanent bans.
Moderation actions may be taken with or without explanation. HDOnTap Staff, Moderators, and Ambassadors reserve the right to remove content or restrict access when behavior is determined to be disruptive or harmful to the community.
Community members may report posts they believe violate these guidelines. Reported content may be reviewed by HDOnTap Staff. If a post receives multiple reports, it may be temporarily removed from public view while it is reviewed.
Advertising, repeated self-promotion, repeated posting of the same content, or attempts to dominate a conversation are considered spam and may be removed even if the content itself is otherwise polite or well-written.

We encourage excitement, curiosity, thoughtful discussion, and respectful sharing of observations. We also recognize that wildlife and live events can bring strong emotions.
