Brought to you by Friends of Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge and Comcast

This live cam was installed this year and shows uninteruppted views into a Massachussetts Osprey Nest!

This nest has been utilized for the past 7-8 years, however it is uncertain if the active nesting pair is the orginial occupants of this nest.

The nest is located at Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve.

The goal of Friends of Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge is to give the public opportunity to enjoy and interact with nature and wildlife. The live streaming of this Osprey nest will reach the locals of Cape Cod and beyond, thanks to Comcast, The Friends of Mashpee National Wildlife Refuge and the Waquoit Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve.

Osprey of Cape Code are abundant and distinct large raptors that mark the beginning of springtime! Osprey are often called fish hawks due to their 99% fish diet. The species is found on every continent across the world, aside from Antarctica. Mated Osprey pairs typically remain together for life, each year returning to their previously used nest site and add sticks and soft materials to build up the nest.
