Eastern Screech Owl Nest Cam Opens for the New Season
Grapevine, Texas, October 7, 2025, HDOnTap has reopened the Eastern Screech Owl Live Cam for the new nesting season, offering an intimate look inside a professionally designed owl box fitted with an infrared camera system.
The live stream follows the life cycle of Eastern Screech Owls as they move from early season box occupancy to egg laying, hatching and eventual fledging. Viewers can watch the owls prepare their nest chamber, incubate eggs and care for their young in a setting designed to minimize disturbance.
“Our goal is to create camera systems that give viewers remarkable access without impacting the animals we film,” said Tim Sears, President and Founder of HDOnTap. “The custom mounted IR camera in this owl box gives a clear view of the owls’ activity while preserving the natural conditions they depend on.”
The camera is securely installed inside a custom built bird box engineered to accommodate optical and infrared equipment while providing ample nesting space for the owls. The design ensures the camera remains stable, low light capable and completely unobtrusive throughout the season.
