HDOnTap Launches Interactive Map View for Exploring Live Webcams
DEL MAR, Calif. — HDOnTap has launched Map View, a new interactive website feature that gives viewers a geographic way to discover live webcams around the world.
Available in the Map View link of the left sidebar of HDOnTap.com, Map View displays cameras according to their locations on a global map. When several cameras are located within the same geographic area, they appear as numbered clusters, allowing viewers to quickly see how many streams are available in that region.
As viewers move across the map or zoom in and out, the page dynamically updates the camera clusters and visible stream cards. Lines connect locations on the map to live-updating preview cards around the screen, helping viewers identify each camera and see what is happening there before opening the full stream.
The feature creates a more visual way to browse HDOnTap’s network of live cams, which includes wildlife, beaches, scenic destinations, weather, resorts and other locations.
“Map View gives viewers a new way to explore our live camera network and discover streams they may not have found through traditional browsing,” said Tim Sears, president and founder of HDOnTap. “You can move around the world, see where cameras are concentrated and watch the available streams update as you explore.”
Viewers can use the map to browse familiar destinations, investigate areas with multiple cameras or discover live views in other parts of the world. Selecting a stream card takes the viewer from geographic discovery to the corresponding live camera experience.
Map View joins other viewer-focused features introduced across the HDOnTap website, including the Snapshots Gallery, stream-page FAQs, favorites and tools for browsing cameras by category.
The new feature is available now on desktop, tablet and mobile and can be accessed from the “Map View” option in the website’s left side bar or mobile footer bar by selecting "Map".
