Coastal Discovery Museum
Located on Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, the Coastal Discovery Museum offers visitors an immersive experience into the Lowcountry's rich cultural heritage and natural history. Spanning 68 acres of the historic Honey Horn property, the museum features a mile-long nature trail that winds past some of the island's oldest structures and leads to boardwalks extending into Jarvis Creek. Guests can explore native gardens, marvel at historic live oaks, visit a native butterfly habitat, and stop by the horse stable. The Discovery House exhibits provide insights into the region's environment and history. The museum also offers a variety of guided walks, talks, cruises, and excursions throughout the year, catering to all ages. Admission is free, with donations welcomed to support ongoing educational programs and conservation efforts.
